The Leonard Cheshire Centre of Conflict Recovery (LCC) was set up in
1995 with aim of studying the medical consequences of war, with a particular
emphasis on post-conflict recovery. LCC works in close collaboration with
Government’s and military, medical and academic institutions when
engaging in overseas programmes in post-conflict countries. LCC strives
to provide generic models of best practise in the provision of post-conflict
medical aid by undertaking academic study and research into relevant areas
of conflict medicine.

The Mine Action Center at James Madison University operates as a clearinghouse for humanitarian demining and mine action related information
The MAIC maintains a high quality website, answers landmine related queries,
hosts conferences,produces GIS products and conducts studies and surveys
designed to facilitate and improve global mine action. MAIC also produces
the international publication The Journal of Mine Action, which is published
three time a year both online and in print. The Journal of Mine Action covers
landmine related news, lessons-learned, country profiles and research and
technology topics of interest to the mine action community.
